Asthma Care in Children: From Smart Therapy to Biologics

The goal of this program is to improve the management of asthma in children using single maintenance and reliever therapy (SMART) and biologic therapies. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Evaluate pediatric patients for risk factors for asthma exacerbation. 2. Implement the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) guidelines for pediatric asthma management. 3. Apply the SMART strategy in children with asthma. 4. Choose appropriate biologic therapies for managing aller gic and nonallergic asthma. 5. Identify the recommended precautions for patients taking biologics.
