Iris tumors comprise a rare yet significant category of pathological ocular conditions. Iris tumors may be benign or malignant, either of which has the capacity to compromise vision via various mechanisms. There is significant overlap in the clinical presentation of iris tumors, and a comprehensive understanding of critical differentiators facilitates early, accurate diagnosis and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions to preserve vision and reduce associated morbidity and, in the case of malignant tumors, mortality. This activity reviews the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, histopathology, clinical characteristics, evaluation, management, and prognosis of various benign and malignant iris tumors. The activity also highlights the role of the interprofessional team in the evaluation and long-term management of iris tumors to improve outcomes for patients with these ocular conditions.
