The goal of this program is to promote equity in the provision of trauma care and improve outcomes of patients with opioid use disorder. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize sources of bias in delivery of health care.
2. Reduce potential for medical errors by learning from the mistakes of others.
3. Differentiate between addiction and opioid dependence.
4. Adhere to regulations for prescription of buprenorphine formulations.
5. Successfully initiate medication-assisted treatment of opioid use disorder in the emergency department.
