Bispecific Antibody Toxicity

Bispecific Antibody Toxicity

Bispecific antibodies are the next-generation monoclonal antibodies that recognize and bind to 2 different antigens to exert their effect. The Food and Drug Administration approved the first bispecific antibody, blinatumomab, for relapsed or refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia treatment in 2014. Since then, 9 more bispecific antibodies have received FDA approval and are currently in clinical use. Bispecific antibodies have produced good clinical responses. However, these agents have unique toxicity profiles. This activity for healthcare professionals is designed to enhance learners’ competence in evaluating and managing bispecific antibody toxicity. Participants gain a deeper understanding of the condition’s pathophysiology, varied presentations, preventive measures, and diagnostic and management strategies. Learners become prepared to work within an interprofessional team caring for patients with bispecific antibody toxicity.
