Healthcare worker well-being was a challenge before the pandemic, now it is a parallel pandemic. Our recent NIH R01 grant used Randomized Controlled Trials to demonstrate that we can cause well-being to improve using simple, practical, bite-sized strategies, and that these improvements endure for the medium and long term. In this talk, we will demonstrate the mechanisms at work that cause burnout, and look at how evidence-based interventions counteract those mechanisms to result in well-being improvements.
