The Trauma Performance Peer Committee (TPC) is a multidisciplinary meeting chaired by the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) with the assistance of the Trauma Program Manager/Coordinator. Attendance is also required from representatives from general surgery, and liaisons from orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, ICU, and anesthesia to identify events; develop corrective action plans; and ensure methods of monitoring, reevaluation, and benchmarking. This committee assesses, addresses, and corrects global trauma program and system issues. The TPC process is defined to include all Trauma program-related services, for regular meetings, minimally Bi-monthly, per ACS requirements. Attendance requirements are monitored, with meeting minutes to track and trend process improvement initiatives identified in these meetings. The purpose of this committee is to improve trauma care by reviewing selected deaths, complications, and sentinel events to identify opportunities for improvement. Members of our Trauma Performance Peer Committee (TPC) collaboratively embrace the gaps in the understanding of best practices for trauma patients and recognize the continuous need for performance improvement with improving the outcomes for injured patients.
