The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) System has historically provided care for a predominately male population. As a result, some VHA staff and other healthcare teams may experience a knowledge gap concerning effective services/care for a growing female patient population with unique needs and health issues. It is imperative that this gap be addressed to serve the influx of women Veterans seeking care in the VHA system.
