The goal of this program is to improve the management of acute cardiomyopathies, hypothermic cardiac arrest, and the prevention of physician burnout. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Differentiate between various types of acute cardiomyopathy.
2. Select appropriate treatment strategies for various types of myocarditis.
3. Implement protocols for treatment of hypothermic cardiac arrest in the emergency department.
4. Evaluate for signs of hypothermia using established parameters of body temperature and appropriate testing modalities.
5. Identify risk factors associated with physician burnout.
