The goal of this program is to improve management of patients with diabetes at high-risk for cardiovascular disease, and management of the itchy patient. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Implement strategies for weight loss, including bariatric surgery.
2. Select proven medications for patients with diabetes and atherosclerosis.
3. Recognize medications with adverse effects that may exacerbate comorbid conditions.
4. Assess signs and symptoms to identify the cause of pruritus.
5. Treat pruritus with medications appropriate to its cause.
