The goal of this program is to improve management of cardio-embolic stroke and chronic subdural hematoma. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Assess the relationship between atrial fibrillation and cryptogenic stroke.
2. Use markers of atrial cardiopathy for early identification of patients at risk for stroke.
3. Choose between anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapy for secondary prevention of stroke.
4. Determine the optimal therapy for mild, moderate, and severe cases of chronic subdural hematoma.
5. Prolong survival of patients with cancer and subdural hematoma.
