The goal of this program is to improve management of cardiovascu-lar emergencies, stress ulceration, and toxic megacolon. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Diagnose and manage cardiogenic shock.
2. Identify patients presenting with cardiac tamponade.
3. Reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertensive emergency or hypertensive urgency.
4. Prescribe appropriate stress ulcer prophylaxis to prevent gastrointestinal bleeding.
5. Correlate clinical features of toxic megacolon with imaging findings.
