Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the United States and its incidence is expected to increase with climate change. Most cases of Lyme disease can be cured with a course of oral antibiotics. However, some patients have concerns about persistent symptoms they attribute to Lyme disease. Physicians often find it challenging to treat these patients because of the lack of evidence-based guidance and growing patient exposure to misinformation. This module, developed in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, will help physicians manage patients with persistent symptoms that might be attributed to Lyme disease, address misinformation that patients might have been exposed to, and provide resources that support physicians in treating these patients.
