The goal of this program is to improve the management of complications during cataract surgery. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Manipulate surgical instruments to improve efficacy and safety during cataract surgery.
2. Use viscoelastic to pressurize the eye appropriately at various stages of surgery.
3. Manage risk factors during preoperative planning to reduce likelihood of complications.
4. Create strategies to minimize trauma to the eye when surgical complications arise.
5. Develop techniques to prevent damage to the intraocular lens and the eye during implantation of the lens.
