The goals of this program are to evaluate the challenges of organ donation, patient care, management of critical care units during the COVID-19 pandemic, and improve the management of status asthmaticus. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize the precautionary measures implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure staff and patient safety throughout the process of organ donation.
2. Identify various hospital-related challenges encountered in providing health care to COVID-19 patients throughout the pandemic.
3. Interpret the procedural changes in critical care during the COVID-19 pandemic.
4. Evaluate for early signs of status asthmaticus in pediatric patients.
5. Select appropriate strategies for managing respiratory and cardiac distress in children.
