This webinar will explore the critical intersection of reproductive justice (RJ) and climate change, highlighting how environmental challenges disproportionately impact marginalized communities. I will provide an overview of RJ, focusing on how climate change exacerbates existing inequities in pregnancy care and breastfeeding support. Topics will include the effects of extreme heat, natural disasters, and environmental toxins on maternal and fetal health, with a focus on the importance of respectful maternity care. The presentation will also feature ongoing projects at this intersection, including Birthmark Doulas’ Infant Ready program, which supports breastfeeding in disaster preparedness efforts. Attendees will leave with insights on how birth workers and communities are building climate resilience to ensure the health and well-being of mothers, infants, and families.
