The goal of this program is to improve management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and outcomes in a hospitalized patient with IBD. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Contrast creation of a pouch in IBD with an end ileostomy. 2. Explain the effect of weight gain on creation of a pouch in patients with IBD. 3. Cite evidence of risk associated with delayed colectomy. 4. Compare use of infliximab with ileocecal resection in patients with Crohn disease. 5. Differentiate among various types of strictureplasty in IBD.
