CONTEMPORARY MANAGEMENT OF APPENDICITIS/ADVANCED INTERVENTIONS FOR EXTREMITY THROMBOTIC DISEASE

The goal of this program is to improve management of acute appendicitis and management of extremity thrombotic disease. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Evaluate patients for nonoperative management of uncomplicated acute appendicitis.
2. Identify patients that are at increased risk for recurrent appendicitis.
3. Integrate considerations of the risk for malignancy into treatment decisions for patients with appendicitis.
4. Recognize complications of deep venous thrombosis.
5. Select the appropriate treatment for extremity thrombotic disease.
