The goal of this program is to improve contraceptive management through updates in the US Medical Eligibility Criteria (MEC) and Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraception and diagnosis and management of nonclassic congenital adrenal hyperplasia (NCCAH). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Select safe contraceptive methods based on MEC recommendations for patients with various health conditions. 2. Optimize pain reduction during intrauterine device (IUD) placement. 3. Evaluate conditions requiring deferment of IUD placement. 4. Interpret diagnostic testing to differentiate between NCCAH and polycystic ovary syndrome. 5. Prescribe effective treatment for NCCAH.
