The goal of this program is to improve contraception use in adolescents and the management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clini cian will be better able to: 1. Compare the risks and benefits of various hormonal con traceptive methods available for adolescents. 2. Anticipate common side effects of using combined hor monal contraceptives. 3. Recognize subdermal contraceptive implants as a highly efficacious method for preventing pregnancy. 4. Diagnose PCOS. 5. Choose among various long-term endometrial protection options for patients with PCOS.
