This presentation will review current (and potential future) contraception methods and choices available for patients in the United States. The presenter will also discuss which contraceptive methods are best for patients based on their personal needs and medical conditions. Learning Objectives: Learners will review the current contraception methods. Learners will formulate optimal contraception recommendations based on their patient’s individual medical, pharmacological, psychosocial, and behavioral health states. Learners will recognize medication interactions and medical conditions that would necessitate a contraception plan change for their patients. Learners will help their patients assess their contraception options and current health to determine optimal contraception for their well- being and safety.
