This course is designed for use by Infection Preventionist (IP) trainees, whose credentials might be RN, BSN, MSN, MT, or something else as designated by their employer. The course is designed to be four hours long, to be taught by DICON staff or in a single half-day session. Many people who are hired as IPs receive very little formal education on the incredibly important concepts of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization in the hospital and/or clinic environment. This course is taught by the Duke Infection Control Outreach Network (DICON) IP team. The DICON IPs are considered experts in their field, and spend the majority of their time advising and guiding IPs at small rural hospitals in their infection prevention and control efforts. Mar 5, Jun 7, Aug 5th, and Nov 7th
