The goal of this program is to improve management of otitis media, otitis externa, and mastoiditis. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Choose the correct antibiotic for treatment of acute otitis media.
2. Identify patients who may benefit from placement of tympanostomy tubes.
3. Recognize the symptoms of otitis media with effusion.
4. Prevent the development of mastoiditis.
5. Select the appropriate treatment for acute otitis externa.
