Palliative care aims to improve quality of life and reduce suffering for people with serious illnesses like CF. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation endorses incorporation of palliative care principles into routine CF care and involvement of palliative care specialists when unmet needs are identified. This activity aims address gap in understanding what palliative care is, why it is appropriate for people with CF, how needs within the domains of palliative care – symptom management, communication, decision making, caregiver support, and end of life care – can be met through different models of palliative care delivery.
