The goal of this program is to improve the management of Alzheimer disease (AD) and neurodegenerative disorders (NDD), and penetrating brain injury (PBI). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Use biomarkers to diagnose AD and other NDD. 2. Evaluate clinical outcomes and adverse events associated with anti-amyloid therapy used for AD. 3. Summarize the clinical significance of allelic variants of the APOE gene. 4. Outline the significance of APOE in lipid metabolism and brain function. 5. Consider the complexities and recent research challenging existing dogma when managing PBI in the trauma bay.
