The goal of this program is to improve the diagnosis and management of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinicians will be able to:
1. Identify factors that contribute to the development of ADHD in adults.
2. Diagnose adults with ADHD based on criteria from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition.
3. Devise a treatment plan for ADHD in adults using pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic strategies.
4. Recognize the differences in presentation of ADHD in adults and children.
5. Treat psychiatric comorbidities that mimic ADHD in adults, eg, anxiety, depression.
