The goals of this program are to evaluate the effects of vitamin and nutrient supplementation on various health conditions and improve the diagnosis and management of refractory Crohn disease. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Evaluate the use of vitamin D supplementation for prevention and management of cancer, heart disease, and fractures. 2. Assess the impact of multivitamin, magnesium, and S-adenosylmethionine supplementation on various health conditions. 3. Recognize the impact of antioxidants in newly diagnosed diabetics and carotenoids on prevention of macular degeneration. 4. Diagnose refractory Crohn disease. 5. Implement evidence-based management strategies for refractory Crohn disease.
