AMA and FDA share a mutual goal of increasing understanding and awareness of dietary supplement regulations so physicians can effectively counsel patients on dietary supplement use. This education module will include information on: Current FDA regulation of supplement products, product labeling and label claims;
Dietary supplement interactions with other drugs and laboratory tests;
Identifying and reporting adverse events associated with dietary supplements; and Engaging in risk-based conversations with patients.
