To improve the quality of care for patients with Alzheimer s disease (AD), health care professionals (HCPs) are positioned to assess brain health and provide the crucial early diagnosis, especially in diverse, underserved patient populations. To improve patient outcomes, HCPs must implement emerging care strategies, including use of validated diagnostic tools to pinpoint patients suitable for therapies that may slow disease progression, while implementing a culturally sensitive approach that includes shared decision-making (SDM). In the first activity of this CME Outfitters BriefCase series, expert faculty will utilize a patient case format to illustrate utilization of current and emerging screening and diagnostic tools in diverse populations for early detection of AD, as well as integration of culturally sensitive patient and caregiver education strategies to improve SDM on brain health and/or AD management with patients.
