Physical activity is the single most important health habit. It decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and depression. It improves well-being. Yet we find it challenging to advise patients on a practical approach to exercise. This lecture reviews the evidence supporting the importance of exercise for optimal health outcomes and discusses a practical approach to exercise in the office.
