The goal of this program is to improve communication for pediatricians and the management of diabetes mellitus (DM) in children. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Recognize the importance of building rapport and trust through positive interactions and feedback. 2. Use appropriate communication strategies when deliver ing sensitive or corrective feedback. 3. Select appropriate formulations of insulin for the treatment of type 1 DM. 4. Incorporate the American Diabetes Association guide lines for the treatment of type 2 DM. 5. Prescribe sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors for the management of type 2 DM.
