This enduring accredited program aims to improve US-based psychiatrists, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants knowledge of patient-centered strategies to optimize the diagnosis of bipolar I disorder (BD-I), as well as goal-oriented therapeutic approaches that address the individualized needs of patients with BD-I, including the incorporation of shared decision-making. As a result of this educational activity, learners should be better able to: 1. Identify patient-centered strategies to optimize the timely diagnosis of bipolar I disorder (BD-I) 2. Review goal-oriented therapeutic approaches that address the personalized needs of patients with BD-I 3. Outline strategies to ensure the delivery of patient-centric care that incorporates patients wishes, values, priorities, and goals Using fast-paced, interactive, microburst learning instructional design with a flipped-classroom approach will maximize the educational impact (test learn retest). This education offers clinical perspectives and discussion from a leading expert with a patient living with the disease divided into 5 short sessions. Downloadable slides will be included and available for learners to download for use in clinical practice.
