This is a bundle of four programs from the 2022 KCU Homecoming. These programs and their descriptions & objectives are listed below. Asymptomatic Severe Hypertension Learning Objectives: Understand the impact of Severe Acute Hypertension on patient populations. Understand the Harms associated with PRN anti-hypertensive use. Understand the benefits of a more targeted strategy of matching individual patient risks to their blood pressure in the treatment decision-making process. Clinical Updates in Emergency Medicine Learning Objectives: Appendicitis in Children. POCUS for Diagnosis of Rib Fractures. Re-emergence of Monkey Pox. Eval/TX of Low-Risk Recurrent Abdominal Pain. Opioid Overdose. De-escalation of the IVF in Sepsis. Pediatric Head Injury. COVID-19 Challenges, Lessons Learned, & How to Prevent the Next Pandemic Learning objectives: Identify failures of the US medical and political systems. Understand what went wrong with our US response to the pandemic. Gain motivation to demonstrate behavior consistent with Section 13. When necessary a physician shall attempt to help to formulate the law by all proper means in order to improve patient care and public health of the AOA’s Code of Ethics which provides guidance on medical ethics and professional responsibilities The physician learner will commit to becoming stronger advocates, both individually and collectively, for changing systems that allowed so many US residents to die from this and future pandemics. Sepsis Management Update Learning Objectives: Discuss current approaches to treatment in patients with sepsis. Discuss the individualized approach to fluid resuscitation in patients with sepsis. Discuss options for assessing patient responsiveness to fluid resuscitation.
