The goal of this program is to improve the management of gynecologic emergencies in children and adolescents and premature ovarian insufficiency. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize common gynecologic emergencies in children and adolescents.
2. Evaluate for prepubertal vaginal bleeding and genital and pelvic pain in girls.
3. Distinguish various etiologic factors for premature ovarian insufficiency.
4. Develop an approach for the diagnosis and management of premature ovarian insufficiency and its long-term implications.
5. Identify the treatment options available for preservation of fertility in cancer patients.
