The goal of this program is to improve emergency management at ambulatory surgical centers and preoperative management for ophthalmic surgery. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Implement simulation-based training for cardiac emergencies.
2. Recognize the symptoms of oculocardiac reflex.
3. Select medications to treat local anesthetic systemic toxicity.
4. Manage hypertension in patients undergoing cataract surgery.
5. Identify patients with conditions for which cataract surgery should be postponed.
