Learning Objectives: 1) Learners will develop a pharmacologic rationale and understanding of the effects that THC and other psychoactive substances have on behavior, brain, and personality development in adolescents and adults. 2) Learners will apply the information from this presentation to educate their patients on the potential adverse and undesired effects of using legally obtained THC psychoactive substances. 3) Learners will provide validated and informed counseling to their patients and/or family members, empowering them to make reasonable and informed decisions regarding the use of these increasingly accessible and affordable substances. 4) Learners will be able to confidently engage their patients in informed discussions of the risks and benefits of using psychoactive substances like THC to address physical and psychological issues.
