The goal of this program is to improve the management of emerging infectious diseases and the pre-, peri-, and postoperative care of patients undergoing liver transplantation (LT). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Recognize the clinical presentation of arbovirus and nontuberculous mycobacterial infections.
2. Differentiate between signs and symptoms of dengue and Zika viruses.
3. Identify the various modes of transmission of arboviruses and nontuberculous mycobacterial viruses.
4. Implement strategies for better evaluation of patients who are potential candidates for LT.
5. Optimize post-LT management and surveillance.
