The goal of this program is to improve management of obesity via endoscopic treatments, management of liver disease, and management of esophageal cancers. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Compare and contrast endoscopic bariatric procedures.
2. Choose an endoscopic bariatric procedure or device based on patient treatment goals and history.
3. Relate imbalances of the normal gut microbiota to impairedliver function and increased risk for hepatic encephalopathy.
4. Prescribe optimal antibacterial therapy for patients with liver disease.
5. Recognize advantages and disadvantages of approaches for surgical treatment of esophageal cancers.
