Adults with Down syndrome require specific medical care that can differ from the general population, but most do not have access to Down syndrome-specific medical providers. To address this need, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation Medical Care Guidelines for Adults with Down Syndrome were created and published in JAMA in 2020. In this webinar, GLOBAL Guideline authors will share the 9 medical topics covered in the first version of the guidelines and the evidence supporting the guideline’s 14 recommendation statements. Attendees will learn how to access and share the Global Guideline with their patients, plus get a look at the newly created toolkits, language translations and family-friendly version. In addition, the speakers will share the current gaps in the literature base and the future research needed for the next Global Guideline update, expected in 2025-2026.
