The Spinal Cord Injury and Disorder (SCI/D) National Program Office has developed this training series to help train providers/healthcare team throughout VA who care for Veterans with SCI/D to ensure they’re delivering the highest quality care. This is essential training for ensuring that high-quality services are delivered to Veterans with SCI/D. Currently, many providers at SCI/D Spokes and CBOCs and other facilities are not familiar with SCI/D or would benefit from exposure to best practices in the delivery of telehealth -based care to Veterans with Spinal Cord injuries when delivering primary care, whole health, and sexual health services. The purpose of this recorded knowledge-based webinar is to spread best practices for treating Veterans through training clinicians caring for Veterans with spinal cord injury and disorders (SCI/D). Autonomic dysreflexia (AD) and other autonomic dysfunctions are commonly seen after spinal cord injury (SCI). Clinicians who work with individuals with SCI should be familiar with the evaluation and treatment of these conditions. This training will cover relevant aspects of the Clinical Practice Guidelines: Spinal Cord Medicine – Evaluation and Management of Autonomic Dysreflexia and Other Autonomic Dysfunctions: Preventing the Highs and Lows..
