The goal of this program is to improve the management of Barrett esophagus, use of third-space endoscopy, and treatment of esophageal disease. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. List clinical best practices by the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and American College of Gastroenterology guidelines for management of Barrett esophagus.
2. Optimize use of per-oral endoscopic myotomy for achalasia.
3. Compare cholecystectomy using the natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery technique with laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
4. List evidence of effectiveness of upper esophageal sphincter
compression device, or reflux band, for laryngopharyngeal
reflux.
5. Employ 6-food elimination diet for treatment of eosinophilic
esophagitis.
