This course presents different types of aortic valve disease (AVD) and reviews their diagnosis, management and treatment. Aortic stenosis, the most common valve disease in the United States, involves an obstruction of blood flow across the aortic valve. The classic triad of symptoms will be reviewed, as well as the mortality associated with AVD.
