The goal of this program is to improve surgical management of foregut issues, management of intrathoracic surgical compli cations, and postsurgical outcomes in pancreatic cancer using prehabilitation. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinicians will be able to: 1. Perform appropriate preoperative workups to diagnose and manage gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and achalasia. 2. Select optimal management strategies for patients with GERD, achalasia, or esophageal perforation. 3. Manage common complications of thoracic surgery. 4. Utilize surgical techniques to prevent postsurgical complica tions in patients with hiatal hernia. 5. Develop suitable prehabilitation strategies for patients with pancreatic cancer undergoing surgery.
