Up to 20% of the western population have at least weekly heartburn and/or acid regurgitation. Clinically troublesome heartburn is seen in 6% of the population. Familiarity with diagnostic criteria and pH monitoring tools help determine a diagnosis of pathologic acid reflux and determine treatment planning. In this online course, Karthik Ravi, M.D. and Eamonn M. Quigley, M.D. will discuss developments in gastroenterology and the treatment of nonerosive reflux disease and gastroparesis. Clinicians will learn diagnosis criteria, treatment guidelines and emerging modalities for assessment and treatment of gastroparesis and non-erosive reflux disease.
