The goal of this program is to improve the management of breast cancer using targeted therapy and use of radiation therapy for in-breast recurrence (IBR). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Interpret findings of various trials evaluating targeted therapies for breast cancer.
2. Implement recommended guidelines for the management of breast cancer subtypes with specific biomarkers.
3. Use genomic testing for biomarkers for systemic therapy in metastatic breast cancer or local regional recurrence.
4. Evaluate for efficacy and safety of partial breast reirradiation for IBR.
5. Devise an approach for managing IBR with partial breast reirradiation after repeat breast conservation surgery as an alternative to mastectomy.
