The goal of this program is to improve the management of glaucoma.
After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Formulate treatment plans to minimize the need for topical glaucoma therapies.
2. Select the optimal type of surgery for glaucoma based on disease severity, surgeon experience, and anatomic variations.
3. Compare benefits and limitations of cataract surgery with nonsurgical interventions in patients with glaucoma.
4. Incorporate selective laser trabeculoplasty and sustained-release drug implants into the treatment strategy for glaucoma.
