Healthy coping is a key self-care behavior for people with prediabetes and diabetes. Although stress alone does not cause type 2 diabetes, stress can affect blood sugar, insulin resistance, weight, sleep, and more. For people with prediabetes, stress can lead to stress eating, skipping physical activity, and even dropping out of the lifestyle change program. This webinar discusses how lifestyle coaches can encourage healthy coping behaviors for people with prediabetes. Speakers will discuss what stress is, how stress affects people with prediabetes, and how people with prediabetes can identify healthy ways to cope with stress.
