The goal of this program is to improve the management of hearing loss, otolaryngologic pain, and pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Determine whether a patient with hearing loss might benefit from cochlear implants.
2. Recommend use of hearing aids to improve hearing, balance, and cognition in older adults with hearing loss.
3. Select appropriate nonopioid analgesics for controlling otolaryngologic pain.
4. Reduce the use of narcotics for medical management of otolaryngologic pain.
5. Diagnose OSA in children.
