The goal of this program is to provide an update on hepatitis B and hepatitis C, and the epidemiology and risk factors of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Identify recent developments in the management of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. 2. Select patients who should be screened for HCV. 3. Devise an approach for detecting and treating the various stages of hepatitis B infection. 4. Correlate potential dietary components with the development of IBD. 5. Recognize medications that are associated with risk of developing IBD in the future.
