Hepatitis C Online 4th Edition: Surveillance for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Hepatitis C Online 4th Edition: Surveillance for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

This project will address the urgent need for professional education and training to create a well-informed health care workforce knowledgeable about hepatitis C. Hepatitis C Online 4th Edition will address this problem by enhancing the delivery of accurate, up-to-date and comprehensive information on all aspects of hepatitis C to health care providers who need this information. This approach will fulfill the two main outcomes: 1) Increase health professionals’ knowledge of the complex issues surrounding chronic hepatitis C including the populations affected, CDC’s screening recommendations, serology, medical monitoring, care and treatment; and 2) Increase health professionals’ competence to conduct risk assessments, screen, identify, diagnose, counsel, stage, monitor and make appropriate referrals for those at risk for or are living with hepatitis C. This curriculum will also play an important role in the federal government’s initiative: Viral Hepatitis National Strategic Plan for the United States: A Roadmap to Elimination (2021 – 2025). The curriculum content directly supports three of the five strategic goals: prevent new viral hepatitis infections; improve health outcomes of people with viral hepatitis; and reduce viral hepatitis-related disparities and health inequities.
