It is estimated that only half of those infected with Hepatitis C Virus in the US are diagnosed and perhaps a third receive treatment. The arrival of direct-acting antiviral medications with high cure rates has spurred the creation of updated guidelines for expanded HCV screening. Primary care physicians are in the best position to carry out screening and testing but may lack experience. This activity will assist physicians in becoming familiar with the current screening guidelines, a testing algorithm and recommendations regarding referral for treatment.
